As you know Australia currently needs more qualified
hairdressers and to meet this overwhelming demand, Box Hill
Institute, Victoria’s No. 1 TAFE in 2004 and 2005, is
pleased to launch another popular, career-focused course:
Diploma of Hairdressing (Salon Management)
This exciting new 2 year course provides students with solid
practical, hands on training in an operating salon
environment. Initially, students practice on mannequin
heads, but soon they are providing quality hair care
services and advice to real clientele. The course also
covers areas such as managing business operations,
recruiting and selecting personnel, and managing finances,
providing graduates with salon management skills and
confidence to effectively enter the workforce immediately.
Graduates may find themselves running their own salons,
working in tourist locations, or starting a career in the
television or theatre industries.
Some Quick Facts:
Course duration – 2 years
2006 Course intakes – 23rd February and 3rd uly
English language requirement – IELTS 5.5 (Academic stream
preferred) or TOEFL 530 paper based or 197 computer based.
Pre-requisites – Year 12. Students with incomplete secondary
education but with relevant employment experience are also
encouraged to apply.
Tuition fees for international students – AUD $11000 per
year plus approximately AUD $1900 equipment/materials fees
(1st year only).
